How to Make a Fabric Mask at Home

Get the crafty you out! and try your hands on making a face mask at home.

Fabric Scissors Needle and Thread Sewing machine (if available) Rubber band or Elastic Ruler Things Required

Try using 100% cotton material. T-shirts, handkerchiefs, scarves, and even bandannas can be used. Tips on choosing fabric for the mask

Step 1: Draw the cutout of the mask on a double cloth. Procedure

Step 2: Cut the fabric into the shape of the mask.

Step 3: Cut 4 pieces for 1 mask. Pair up 2 of the 4 pieces so that they are symmetrical.

Step 4: Use pins to align the corners and edges of the mask (Before you start sewing).

Step 5: Start with sewing the centers (curves that cover the nose) with thread and needle.

Step 6: Place the elastic on one of the sides of the mask.

Note: Make sure the rubber meets the edges and goes inside the mask.

Step 7: At the edges you will see - one layer of mask, elastic, second layer of mask. Sew these layers so that they come together.

Step 8: Repeat step 7 for the other side. Sew the mask from all sides, keep just one side open. Turn the mask inside out.

Step 9: After inverting the mask, sew the remaining gap.

And your mask is ready to use!!!
