Inundate the sand with enough water in a container. Add ample amounts of your favorite food color into the container and mix. Wait for some time as the sand may take time to get the desired color. Now, drain out the sand on a paper napkin and let it dry out completely.

It is not required to mention that you should use different containers for different colored sands! Because black and white food colorings are not easily available you can use the following options for the same: Black : Mix red, yellow, and blue coloring in equal amounts. White : Use icing whitener on the sand in generous amounts.

Just keep one thing in mind, the container must be large enough to bear the desired amount of sand as well as the water.
